Get the most out of your visit by taking a guided tour. Are you a teacher or a group leader? Are you looking for a great educational opportunity? The Indianapolis Art Center offers building and ARTSPARK tours, demonstrations, and hands-on activities that highlight our art exhibitions and meet your art education standards! More worthwhile than a typical art museum tour, our friendly tour guides engage you in an interactive experience.
What do I get on a tour?
Guided tours are offered of our building, including current contemporary exhibitions and studios (offered year round), and/or ARTSPARK, our outdoor sculpture garden (offered April through late October).Guided tours last approximately 30-60 minutes.
Add on to your guided tour any of the following:
Demonstrations are available in glassblowing, ceramics, painting, and printmaking. Each demo is provided by one of our professional instructors. Demos last approximately 30-45 minutes.
Hands-On Activities are offered in drawing, painting, mixed media, jewelry, sculpture, photography, glassblowing, ceramics, and fabric dying. Each hands-on activity is taught by one of our professional instructors. The length of a hands-on activity depends on which activity you choose. Please allow at least 60 minutes.
How much does it cost?
Guided Tour - $2.50 per person
Demos - $8.50 per person
Hands-On Price depends on activity.
Please call for details. *A group must be at least 10 people visiting the Art Center. You may pay for your group when you arrive for the tour. Please make your payment a single transaction with cash, check, or credit card (Visa, Master Card, Discover, or American Express).
How do I make a reservation?
Please schedule your tour a minimum of two weeks in advance and have a credit card ready to hold your reservation. To make a reservation call Amanda Walters at 317.255.2464 ext. 249 or use the online form>>
After you book the tour, we will send you pre-visit materials including an overview of the Art Center, driving directions, an invoice, and a confirmation letter. If the confirmation details do not match what you intended to book, give us a call as soon as you can.
What if I have to cancel?
Please call Amanda Walters at 317.255.2464 ext 240 72 hours prior to your visit if you must cancel a tour. We will do everything we can to help you reschedule. "No shows" will be charged a $30 processing fee to the credit card or purchase order used to hold the reservation.
What about lunch?
Please provide your own lunch or we can set up a boxed lunch for your group at an extra charge. A great opportunity awaits eager minds.
